    cut copy, wolf parade, shearwater, the hold steady, mgmt were all decent, but i dont know if i could put them on a best of

    ive been really out of touch with hip hop this year. im not a lil wayne kind of guy so im not sure what there is out there for me from this year. not a huge fan of the atmosphere releases nor the free murs release. not a fan of tech n9ne or gnarls barkley. why? doesn't really qualify. i guess ill have to check out that madlib album posted above

    Is that folk/black metal? Might have to check it out.

    Upon further thought, I would have to add Origin - Antithesis, Moonsorrow - Tulimyrsky, and probably Krisiun - Southern Storm would be my favorites so far.

    um...Origin and Krisiun are Brutal Death, Moonsorrow is Viking Black, found out that Heidevolk is similar, pretty bad ass shit.

    if you like the black mountain album, your best bets from my list are mount eerie, bardo pond, dead meadow, 5ive in that order (if you haven't listened to them already that is)

    its folk metal, not black at all. closest thing to compare it to is maybe melodic death metal, its good shit though. both albums they have out are pretty solid if you like their style.
