I need to remove my shift knob.

    It screws on via threads.

    Is made of aluminum.

Pretty sure the actual shifter is steel.

Its been on for almost a year.

It is secured in place with locktite.

I've tried twisting it off many times with my hands.

    It will not budge.

    Help.

hmmm locktite... sorry, no clue how to get it off
EDIT: Searched around and saw that people suggested heating the things with a torch or some sort of low-heat source (also a cig lighter) so i guess try that?

Nvm. I just got it off.

    It was hard too.

I found this thing I am going to call a "rubber strap wrench" and got it off.

    Problem solved.
