OT how do you get yourself moving when your tired?

    Iv returned to uni now (law school :o), i didnt get too much sleep, but im still keen to keep up most of my workout routine, how do you give yourself the energy to get through the session when your still tired?

    I fucking get 6 hours of sleep 5 out of 7 days a week (yes I know thats bad, blah blah blah) and I still manage to hit the gym 5-6 days a week consistantly and progress. I think that thats a poor excuse to completely stop exsercising. But like Ceaze said, if your EXAUSTED then just dont go to the gym and try to recooperate for the next time.

    I suck when it comes to sleeping, i got to bed before 11, but i often lie there for hours during the nite, trying to get to sleep, so its very possible i only got 5 hours or less.

    But, i wont get the opertunity to go tommorow, so this is my only option. Fruit + Coffee + some museli + eggs in the morning will hopefully give me the lift i need to get through my routine.

    You just have to get used to it for the most part.

    There are times when I go 5 days a week+ for months at a time averaging about 5 hours of sleep because of work/school. It is hard at first, but you get used to functioning on that much sleep.

    However, my school schedule is pretty good this semester so I get a solid 7-9 hours of sleep usually, and on the occasion I do not get much sleep I am DEAD all day. I drink coffee during the day to stay up but if I am really that tired I do not bother going to the gym...No point it going to the gym tired and doing a shitty workout. I would come back the next day refreshed and do a good workout.

    However, if you are going to be consistantly getting shitty sleep from now on, I would try out using something like AMP or caffeine pills on your workout days.

    Just got home, in the end, once i got into the workout i got some more energy (im not sure where from). Possibly once my body digested the food properly.

    Not the best workout iv ever done, but i still got some good burn from it.

    i just recite the old dunkin donut commercial line "time to make the donuts" and make myself go to the gym anyway. if you don't allow an excuse (other than injury of course) then no excuse will interfere. If you lift every mon tue thu frid then ther eisn't any reason to not lift tired hungry social life nothing just shut up and go, at least that's the only way it works for me otherwise i end up doing some shit around the house and i'd get fat as hell again lol. no magic fixes
    some workouts go better than others but who cares you go do it anyway, man i miss the time to make the donut commercials

    sometimes if you're feeling beat from the crap you gotta do in the day, lifting or jogging will wake you up and you'll get energized after beginning. If you're truly sleep deprived and havent eaten enough or just have a schedule that is too hectic to allow some extra rest/eating time I would consider making the necessary alterations to allow you those things.

    every few weeks or so I am tired as hell and just take a day or two off, but watch the calories and stuff.
    Just trust your body.
    Tired and strained is one thing, lazy is another. If lazy is the case, get off yoru ass, you will feel better once you get going.

    if i'm too tired i don't workout. but sometimes i just suck it up and go anyways. more than often as soon as i'm at the gym i sort of get pumped up and have a decent workout.

    maltonin fucks with my sleep badly. it makes me continuoulsy wake up throughout the night. its a weird effect thats difficult to explain

    Once I get there and get warmed up I usualy feel great, explosive even.

    90% of the time though I can barely put one foot in front of the other to walk in the place.

    Cause sometimes you just feel tired. You feel weak. And when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you, try ta find that inner strength and just pull that shit out of you, and get that motivation to not give up, and not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.

    I've gotten 8 hours minimum of sleep a night in law school, with the exception of maybe 2 times related to school.

    Coffee is your friend I suppose :dunno:
