Ok so I finally decided I need to stop dressing like im in Highschool. I try and dress fairly nice now (nice jeans, polos, collared shirts, etc) but skate shoes just dont go well with these items. So I need some help picking out some casual shoes that can be worn with jeans.

I was thinking something like the top left :dunno:

    Any suggestions :hs:

I don't like those top ones. They make me think "big old hippie" which is fine if you're a big old hippie.

i dont think they're that bad - but not something i would wear - they are a little too big/bulky - at least, by todays standards. The more casual shoes are smaller/thinner profile - think puma - its like, one piece of fabric and barely a sole. those ones above look more like boots but they arent boots - they are like, hybrid boots. iunno. im more partial to the ones i described anyway. sketcher makes some decent ones, i got a nice pair at sportmart/sports authority - they have a nice selection of casual shoes at good prices.

I know that the pumas are the trendy thing at the moment, but from the looks of them, there is no way my foot is narrow enough to be wearing them.

Diesel sneakers are a good transition shoe, from skater to a little nicer dress. Look at those.

i meant more puma type - i found a pair of more casual shoes - with the flat toe - i dunno if thats the term - but the toe does not get narrow, its a broad front of the shoe - anyway - i have rather large feet too (and the pumas dont even make my size - so im SOL in that department) - anyway - best bet is to just go to a store, look for some shoes you like, and wear em - who cares if "we" dont approve ;)

I'm not gay, but I like to dress well too, and I wear my skate shoes. It just depends how you were them!

Oh for the most part I will still wear my skate shoes, its just theres certain times where they dont really work. I went out on a date with this girl the other night, to a pretty nice restaraunt and just didnt feel like the shoes I had on were right :o

Im making a big deal out of something so trivial

That's not trivial! Shoes are a very expensive (Lol I typed expensive instead of important, Freudian Slip?)part of any outfit. I think skate shoes like Vans can be dressy sometimes but I'd stay away from DC or Etnie because their wideness tends to look more casual to me. I also agree with the person that said Diesels, oh and I'm pretty fond of DKNYs shoes that look kinda similar to Diesels.

NO, I totally get what you mean, but it all depends on you. Look around at diff stores and just try on dress shoes. I mean I have some and they look and feel pretty damn clothes to skate shoes, but never got any complaints.

    Those top "Mocca-sneakers" ew.
    sorry. ew. :barf:

Try stuff like this (Kenneth Cole Unlisted, Diesel, Hippopotomus, London Underground, Even sometimes a simple pair of black and white adidas superstars (the old skool 3 stripes u can get away with), Steve Maddens

Even Skechers, Lugz, etc. are copying diesel... look for nice black shoes, squarer toe, not so pointy/rounded....
