I'm 3 weeks out from hitting my sub 10% bf goal.
My arms, chest, shoulders and back are looking nice and defined. I'm starting to see striations even. The upper half of my abs are visible when not flexing and i can see my serratus. However the thing that's buggin me is the pouch of fat on my lower abs. I really don't know if it's loose skin or not. I can pinch it with my 2 fingers but there's not alot of "stuff" in between the skin, if you know what I mean.

If it turns out to be loose skin, what can I use to tighten it up?

Yep. It sucks to get the surgery, but you will be sooo pleased after you get it done.

aside from the huge horizontal scar across your abdomen

It's not a pretty surgery at all. I've seen quite a few older ladies with ugly scars at the beaches around here.

honestly I really hope it's just the last layer of fat and not loose skin. If I had a cam handy, I would take a pic and show you guys

honestly, the chances of you losing that last layer of fat & excess skin after being significantly overweight are pretty much null - thats what my uncle, a plastic surgeon, told me.

i would get a plastic surgeon's opinion on it before you spend the next 6-12 months throwing yourself against a wall trying to lose it and failing. it may just take some simple liposuction, or might require more extensive skin removal, but either way, there is no way to know until you ask.

damn. well the thing is that I WAS overweight, but I never really had a pot belly stomach. Most of my fat was in my legs/ass
I have very few stretch marks on my stomach if that means anything :dunno:

well the fact that you dont have strechmarks there means that your skin is flexible, and he might be able to just get away with some quick lipo and the skin will conform back to the original shape. if you had extensive stretching, chances are the skin wont return to normal and he'd have to just remove it.

either way, go get yourself a professional opinion before you kill yourself trying to get a flat stomach the natural way.

Not a broly, but I do know if you let that skin sit for too long it can become cancerous. I'd talk to your doctor first.

Do you think that that's something that would be covered under medical insurance?

    :dunno:

I do know a lot of doctors say after gastro surgery that if you keep the weight off for a year, that you'll need to get surgery to remove the excess skin.
