    Start - January 20 - 339.8
    Current - 278.0
Goal - 175? 180? My initial goal was 200 by June 16 2008 but if I stay on the same pace I'll do that by January. :o

you can definitely tell you lost fat in your face and arms, it's just the before/after pics are completely different in every single way possible so it's hard to really comment :hs:

either way, that's great progress, keep at it and you will be at your goal in no time

i know. i don't have any front profile before pics :(

i had bought a gun belt before i started and i've already had to send it back once and will again within a month or two, probably. started in 52s, im down to a loose 44, probably gonna try the 42s again in a couple weeks. after that i'm not buying pants until the 42s are falling off, at which point i should be in the 38s :o

thats about 10lbs a month. which is decent (at lower bodyfat it would be amazing).

have you put on any muscle mass? are you weight training?

at high end bodyfats you can still gain muscle mass while losing significant bodyfat

even his ultimate goal isn't muscle and if he just wants to loss weight, who the hell cares? it's not like hes some 6'1 guy who weighs 180 and wants to drop down to like 130, the guy just wants to shed of the weight and look really good, it doesn't even matter in this case if he isn't looking for muscle. in his case, it's definitely acceptable, but when you look at all the people who are already skinnyfat and and want to drop down to a retarded weight for their height so they can fit in their girlfriend's pants, that's what pisses me off.

don't take this the wrong way, i'm not taking a jab at you or anything, just saying...at his weight, losing weight should be the first priority, at least until he gets down to 220 or so. i could be wrong :dunno: and if i am, correct me

the more muscle that he has the easier it will be to maintain his bodyweight. it will also make it easier to lose fat when he gets to lower bodyfat percentage.

weight training will also maintain muscle mass. if you lose significant muscle dieting down, it will get harder and harder to lose fat, it will also be more difficult to maintain those losses.

weight training also raises metabolic rate for longer periods than cardio training. It also increases release of lipolytic hormones like GH and IGF-1.

not saying that he needs to focus on building muscle, fat loss is a priority. But not weight training will make his goal more difficult to reach and to maintain.

like i said, i'm doing 4 days of weights & 1 day of cardio for the past month or so and before that i was doing 3 days of weights & 2 days of cardio so i guess i'm doing okay considering i'm doing muscle training and still dropping weight :dunno:

try adding even 20-30 minutes of cardio before weight training, even just brisk walking. It will make a significant difference in fat loss as well as provide a good warm up.

ideally you should at least do some brisk walking on what are now "off" days. lets say you walk for 45minutes to an hour on those days and burn 500 cals (wild estimate) thats an extra 1000 calories per week by doing that alone. thats at least an extra pound of fat loss per month. Plus its good for your heart. and walking at your bodyweight will increase your leg muscle mass.

just a thought (and walking at your bodyweight probably will burn more than 500 cals in that time)

Excellent progress keep up the good work!

What I like to see is that you have smaller goals that lead you to the bigger overall goal. Its going to get harder (for some people at least) to keep losing weight. You will hit a bump in the road, but don't let that discourage you, find out what is worng with the routine you're currently doing and change what needs to be...

congrats on the progress thus far!

Good news is your clothes are too big for you now. Bad news is you're going to have to buy new clothes. :bigthumb:

i'm seeing a personal trainer and he's been pretty good about changing my routine periodically to prevent any plateaus.
