No complaints with my SD1000 as my P&S.
I have a Nikon D50 as my DSLR.

I'll have to see what my wife's new camera is. Best point and shoot I've ever used/seen.

Actually it's the model before the one ccrooks posted. The older model seemed to have better features.

I have a Canon PowerShot something, love it, had it 4 years or so.
Wife has a Canon XS DSLR, I just haven't been able to take a picture with it... she hogs it :o

    Hey, watch it.

I'll have to see what hers was. I'm not a camera expert, but the older model had one less thing, but 5+ more options but it was a bit cheaper.

I like my SONY Alpha a300 DSLR, but really depends on what shot you want to take. The cheapness of DSLR's these make them competitive with cheap ass P&Sers. But you get a far better quality pic.

More so size and ease of transport is the issue.

none I have to pick one up though... preferably something small but good enough quality that I can take it traveling for some decent quality pics in the near future.

G10 has great wide angle view.
    SD780/970 has hi-def video
either way, you're looking at spending $400 for a good P&S unless you get a used G9
