As a graduation gift, my brother is getting me a laptop. :wiggle: I don't know much about computers, but the only preferences I have are:

    Windows XP
    lots of memory
    cd burner
    good battery life
and just a good sized screen :hsughno:

nothing too out of the ordinary.

I'm gonna be doing a lot of digital art & photograohy on it as well, so it has to be able to handle photoshop and some other programs.

Price doesn't really matter as long as I get something that'll last me a long time. But something cheaper wouldn't be a problem either. :hsugh:

I'll even consider buying a Mac. I've never used one so I'm kinda hesitant, but if it's better, then i'll go for it. :dunno:

    Help plz. :hs:

What sized screen do you need? How portable do you need it to be?

17 in is a little too big to be portable, so start looking at 15 or 14 inch screens

should i just walk into a place like Best Buy or some other store with electronics and tell them what I want? or is it best to buy them offline?

    and if so, what sites?

i'm more comfortable with it, everything i own is xp compatible but not vista, and i heard vista has a lot of bugs.

i think it's just a safer bet to wait til vista gets better and upgrade later on. :dunno:
