My fiancee and I are looking for a good digital camera. We are looking at ~8 mega pixels, macro ability, would be nice to have a rechargeable battery, 5x or higher zoom, being able to take clear pics in lower lighting (with people), etc.

The price is around $200-300, but no more than $300. I am currently looking at Sony and Canon.

    Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions? Links? Reviews?

:wavey: ruiner. depending on what you want size wise, i'd look into a fuji fxx series, a canon s3/5, or a canon g9. for my point and shoot, i'm still rocking a fuji f10 and it is great indoors without a flash. i bought it about 2 or 3 months after it hit the market and have been very happy with it.

dont buy a sony. their pns cameras suck. color is too warm, and performance sucks even for a pns. their pns cameras are more about look and gimmicks than basic quality.

Canon G9 or S5 IS if you don't mind the larger P&S bodies.

I would highly highly recommend spending the little extra and getting a canon G9 though
