i already have a case, hard drives, optical drives, pci-e video card and 1gb of ddr2 (will probably buy another 1gb soon)

basically i need a processor (heatsink and fan) + mobo and a power supply

i'd like to keep it cheap, but i don't want to get crap components like i have in the past (ecs pc chips etc)

requirements: not much of any. i don't game at all. i do run the occasional 720p movie, but even my old athlon 64 3500+ could handle that. i rip and burn a lot of dvds. i was really happy with the speed of my amd 3500+, before it took a shit
i want it to be quiet. the power supply must be very quiet, same with the processor.

    Yeah, like anyday I think.

But the lower chip prices were only coming down like $10 each.

Oh, and if you use Google checkout, you can get the Corsair psu for $60 after rebate.

Yeah it does. And the recent ones are surprisingly good for stock coolers. Fairly quiet and keep nice low temps.

You would even be able to overclock a bit with one, and not have to worry about temps.

    The Abit's a decent deal.

The E2200 is a better deal than the E4300 though, and for $50 less.

People are getting 3.5ghz out of them.
