stiff is good. but expensive. if you really like those foam ones instead of a whole mattress you can get a mattress pad. the tempur pedics are only like 6" of memory foam and the rest is normal foam.

I'm just helping a friend find info. He's ready to spend $2000 on a queen size tempurpedic deluxe. How much are the nice spring mattresses?

    less than half that much

a really good firm spring mattress would be maybe 600 at the most

very firm bed + good quality down feather bed = teh win

be careful.. anything too soft is really not good for you. consider a conventional matress and a thin memory foam topper (cheap and easy to get) instead of a full foam matterss. Good quality futon mattress + down featherbed = teh shiz, but futon matresses get noticibly worse rather quickly.

This is what I'm rocking too. Serta mattress and a nice 2" memory foam topper. It's very comfortable, but if you have the scratch I'd go for the Dormia.

Cool, I'll have to get one some day. People always seem to worry about how much it costs, but if you really think about how much time you spend sleeping or just lying down it shouldn't even be an issue.
