OK, so I have this B&W G3 sitting at my house that I want to use as a web server and stick in a closet. I know it is the Revision 1 board. Will Tiger run on it? That is really my only question. It has 512 ram, and I put a 450 G3 in it, so I know it meets those requirements. I heard that the Revision 1 boards don't work with Tiger, I wanted to ask on here because of where I heard it. I just don't 100% trust the person I heard it from.

I know how to setup a web server in OS 9. If all else fails, it has a copy of that on the drive right now, and it is a rather small site.

    Thanks in advance

make sure your firmware is up to date, pop in the macosx cd and boot, it should tell you if it is supported.

you will get much better performance using a linux distro (without X etc) that supports PPC.

I have a version of Ubuntu around here somewhere for PPC. I'm looking at a Tiger retail DVD on eBay, so I wanted to know if anyone had any input before I bought that. It's cheap though, I might still buy it anyway.

    Thanks
