I just bought a Samsung phone with bluetooth and want to use it with OS X. Any tips?

I'm mainly looking for tips for syncing contacts between OS X and the phone. Any help with that would be GREATLY appreciated.

its pretty straight forward. pair your phone, add your names/phone #s to your address book, click sync

In the OS X Address Book, what's the "Directories" on the group side all about? I've been playing with it but I don't get what it's for.

I paired my phone, but there's no connection unless I tell it to connect. I also always have to enter the password for the phone. Is there anyway to have them connect automatically when their both on and in range?

It can be used to lookup names and addresses in an LDAP database, example from my University:
