I've noticed long ago, that after about an hour of trying to defend myself, the PC finally lets up, and instead of fighting a little bit (reproducing units), it just gives up. Oh, and I suck at this game.... if you couldn't tell.

 thats what happens when you turtle. happens in age of empires too. after awhile the computer stops collecting resources because it runs out and for whatever reason, in some games, doesnt expand too far out like a human player would to get more.

The games were meant to be played aggressively, and I think that's why it happens.

Warcraft III kicks my ass on the lowest difficulty at times, even to this day. Admittedly, I'm not very good, but the learning curve against the computer can be elevated.

The first time I ever beat the computer I just turtled my ass off and built a line of towers and kept building lines behind it and waited until the computer exhausted itself and I could safely attack with my force.

the comp AI in Warcraft 3 is just cheap IMO. you'll meet them in battle, and as soon as you start attacking their heros they immediately scatter in all directions, etc.

this is why i love age of empires II...you can take an hour and a half to wait and attack the computer on some of the average difficulty and by then, you (better be anyways) and all computers are in the imperial age and stocked on resources and can fight it out as heavily as possible.

or you can put it on higher difficulties to make it a more aggressive game instead of stock up then attack and see who runs out of resources first.
