    u guys recommend any books? This is my first firearm thats not a handgun so I want to read up on it before I go...and I need some reading material for my flight :big grin:

    US Army marksmanship manual would be a good start. Many of us learned to shoot the military way, and they do it their way for good reasons. Little things like putting your nose to the charging handle to get the same sight picture every time... you wouldn't learn that kind of thing futzing around at the range. :)

    congrats on the stag rifle....i think they make some of the best quality AR uppers on the market at very good prices...i love mine!

    Id reccomend small arms of the world. I have my dads old 70s copy. In there, theres a breakdown of the m16. It covers alot of guns, but I remember it covering the m16 alot more than others for obvious reasons

    Hey, I've got that same book! Taught myself how to strip a 1911 out of there, did it a couple times to make sure I knew where everything went, then took first place in my platoon's blindfolded "strip & reassemble" competition. :cool:

    That book has often been referred to the armorers bible/The bible. It has so many military weapons in there. The old version I have covers alot of the models from back them. I dont know if its since been condensed a little more to make room for all the neat new guns or what
