Mica or the DeSantis Nemsis are pretty good. Be ready to wait a long time for the Mica.

On the grips, I might suggest a crimson trace defender grip. I just put one on my j-frame recently. They will not be any thinner than stock and they will have the frame exposed on the rear and bottom.

I chose to go this route for 2 reasons, first of all my model 60 like the 642 and fixed and integral sights, so there is no adjustment possible. More importantly for me was the difficulty I had even with a flashlight in the middle of the night to line up the sights.

    Welcome to the j-frame crew.

I've found the stock grips hard to beat for being compact actually although I'm rocking the wood herrets and a grip adapter for my big hands!
