I bought the Orange box for my 360 and my friend has it for PC. Will we be able to play games together or do I have to buy the PC version?

Need the PC version, there's no interconnectivity.

only one game in the Orange Box has multiplayer, and that's Team Fortress 2. TF2 is gay on PC, and it's awful on 360.

You can't, nor should you want to, play TF2 on 360 vs TF2 on PC

there are a couple games that allow that.. TF2 just isn't one of them.

360 players would get raped if they could play simultaneously with PC players, which is another reason why you should return it and get it for PC instead.

This argument is about as old as console shooters. No one REALLY cares except insecure PC gamers. I guess when you spent $2500 on your gaming PC instead of buying a 360 and a 46" tv JUST BECAUSE "OMG Keyboard & Mouse >>> 360 Controller" you feel like you have to defend your decision every second of the day.

You don't. You're the only person who cares. Console games and PC games appeal to different groups. Console games appeal to those of us who have friends (and those of us who are old enough to play games in the living room past 11pm).

It won't be long before more games are available for cross-system matches, so why not just shut up until then? Find another hobby.

yes, you can play the game together. and by "together", i mean you can both be playing but not with each other.

oh, so youre just making assumptions about me to justify yourself. Its not really about PC vs console shooter stuff, its just stupid to play TF2 on 360. Its slow, boring, and NEVER gets updated like the PC version. When I play TF2 on my $450 PC I built 4 years ago complete with $10 mouse, I know it is far better than its 360 counterpart.

And its not just me. Any person that plays TF2 on PC will tell you its a bad decision to get the orange box for 360, and Ive seen that opinion on and off of OT since the game came out. Also, just use some common sense and think about people with controllers playing against people with mouses and keyboards in an FPS game. Dont you think the PC guys would have a slight advantage? Theres a reason why Halo 3 has auto aim...

the auto-aim in Halo always fucks me up.. I hate it and that's a big reason that I don't enjoy playing it. I played PC shooters from 96 or so until 2006 when I got a 360. I don't miss it at all. There are absurdly good people with keyboard and mouse, and there are absurdly good people with console controllers. Most of the people on both systems are terrible, so do I think a terrible PC player would have an advantage over a terrible console player just because they're using a mouse? Nope.

and I already mentioned the crappiness of TF2 on 360 in this thread.
