What would you pick to drive when given the $45k USD budget? I need some new entertainment and am at a complete loss. For that cash you can get a new M3, or a slightly used S500 :o

No way I'm dropping 44k on a car that's going out of style in a few months.

    I was thinking B5 S4 and saving 20 grand :o

R32 and put a SC or Turbo on it, damn. I rode in a stage 2 s/c R32 last night and that car is amazing. Pulls around 375 awhp. You could get a used or new R for around 26k-30k and to get the stage 3 which just came out it would be about 45k... and have 400+ hp. The sound of that car is incredible and they looks sweet too. I vote the VW but then again I am biased. That or a used E39 M5.... that may be better... dunno.

if you're going to spend 50gs on a car you might aswell get one that's not going to be old in a couple of months. why not get a b5 and save 20gs or wait a few more months and get the new b7.

i don't know. some people, myself included, prefer the styling of the B6 over the B7. maybe i just have to get used to the new look, but after all the pics i've seen so far, it'll take a while. and it's just silly to suggest to go for the B7 only coz it's newer and then right after you do that, suggest a B5, which is an even older car. IMO, the B6 body style is the best looking A4 so far, including the B7. i would even go so far to say it's the best looking audi period. i know looks aren't everything, but a B6 S4 is not a bad choice at all. a good way to spend $45k to me.

    i vote for a B6 S4. :p

so why not wait another 6 months and get the b6 way cheaper than it is now since they price will drop when the b7 comes out?

    4.2 > 2.7T in terms of reliability
    4.2 < 2.7T in terms of moddability

The B5 is a timeless design, but the B6 is faster out of the box.

I figure I'll wait till I reach England and check out the prices around Europe. I'm pretty stuck on getting a diesel due to absurd gas prices so that limits my options :hs: Maybe a 3 or an E in the diesel variant. Dr. Woo, I might need your help in checking the classifides in Germania.

    GTFO :squint:

If you're going to go Diesel (smart choice) i'd go for the new A6 3.0 TDI It's an awesome car and with the S sport package it looks the part too!! I love ours..

Mitsubishi Evo MR, riced to perfection. Although, I'd probably trade it in for a used CTS-V.

Have you checked into a lotus elise? If not, you know also about the Vauxhaul Lighting. They retail for about 30,000 Euro last time I checked.

Let us know what you decide upon. Matt
