Well, I'm getting the midwayusa b-day discount.. I'm gonna buy a couple things and save a couple bucks.

Need to know what's a decent cheaper end scope for a 10/22. I don't really need to pop anything past 100 yards, but being able to have a respectable group at that range is nice. I'm more interested in ranges less than 100 yards -- I mean it's a .22 :hsd:

Mine you, I don't know a thing about optics.

In all honesty I bought a cheap $60 scope at a gun show that was 3-9x and it is a nice little scope. It has held zero on my AR for over 2k shots and I can hit steel targets 400 yards away every time. I have only seen it at gun shows though the name is AIM...

Yeah I saw several 3-9x for $30-50 online. Then I see fixed power versus varible.... and paralax? Anyone wanna explain what a paralax is?

I have a Simmons WTC 6.5-20x AO on my 10/22. Midway had them for a while for $100. I dont know if they are still in stock.

Besides being heavy I like the scope. If you're going to be hunting a lot I'd get something smaller, but for range work its nice.

What ranges is everyone plinking at?

And how much of a power should I look for in a scope? Is it subjective?

haha, guess there's no clear cut winner. I ask 12 people and get 12 differnent answers. ;)

    I have a 3-9 on my 10/22. I usually plink between 25-100 yards.

If I were to do it over again I would probably have gotten something smaller like a 4x or a 3-6x. I rarely ever use anything past 5 or 6.

Well honestly I was just looking for a $40-60 scope. Nothing big. I'm sinking the rest of my money in glock parts and range gear. :naughty:

    Yeah I have this one:

    http://www.opticsplanet.net/barska-3-9x40-huntmaster-easy-shot-reticle-riflescopes-ac10032.html

It works just fine on my 10/22, bullets go where they should. I carry mine around a lot during the summer when I'm squirrel hunting so a slightly lighter scope would have been nice but I have a decent padded sling so I can't really complain.

I have the Simmons 3-9x on my 10/22. It's a good scope for the money, about $70 from OpticsPlanet.
