you can use it for cd players, dvd players, ps2, etc...

most new mid range recievers, dvd players and cd players have optical inputs/outputs. A $100 Sony 5-disc cd player that I bought probably 6 or 7 years ago has an output. My 1 year old mid-range Yamaha reciever has 3 inputs and 1 output.

its almost a standard in today's technology, unless you opt for the $100 stereo only models.

Why would buy them if you don't now what their used for?

Typically, unless you need to go for a long run, which isn't very common between components, you'd opt of the digital coax instead of the optical.

Optical is just for sending a signal from the device (dvd, cd, md) to the receiver. It's a really high quality signal.

I can't believe thats even a real website.. was it designed pre-1995?

FireFold.com for any TOSlinks, S-Video, etc. We are cheaper then the bluejeanspoorwebsite.com or monocostly.com.

    Check us out.

why do you like coax over optical? Isn't it the same digital signal? So besides cost, why not use toslink?

    Optical uses light.

Digital uses voltages, high/low... like binary.

I prefer optical, no degradation, more bandwidth.

I've bought cables from monoprice and firefold (HDMI's), they're exactly the same, the picture is exactly the same, firefold is cheaper and got to my house faster.

    +1

Heartlandcables.com has really nice cables too, and they're not absurdly expensive (pretty fair for the build quality IMO).

I just bought a shit load of bulk cat6, patchbay, and keystone connectors. The cable and patchbay are great very good quality and cheaper than anyplace else I've seen. cat6 connectors kinda suck though, i would have prefered regular punch down units insted of self splicers.

    here's a tip -

do more home work on your competition.

Bluejeans is highly respected among the a/v crowd. They use top quality materials and components in their products. You should look at what they offer and you can probably increase your sales

Their cables are from the same producer we buy from - except jacked up pricing and a website even I can't figure out. :ugh2:

They have a few 'custom' cables I've never seen before.. but I'm sure you could find those cheaper elsewhere.
