I've heard it has trouble with Hd, and the lack of a Lan port bothers me but still looking for owners' thoughts.

So do you have to plug in a USB port and power connector to the drive? Or are they powered by USB?

Isn't that annoying hooking up to your computer, downloading files, unplugging, move to living room, plug all that stuff into the Media Player, and then watch the movie?

I glanced at the page quickly and didn't see an Official thread.

No, i just have one of the usb powered my passport drives. I have a powered one thats attached to it too that i don't move from the living room. I simply bring down my Macbook Pro, hook it up and transfer whatever files i have downloaded.

Its really not that annoying, i mean i download probably 20 movies at a time, and put them on there at once, and im usually good to go for a week :bigthumb:

How good is Popcorn Hour about codecs... Can you update the codecs on your existing unit? Can you update it with your own codec packs or just whatever they provide?

Can Popcorn Hour load an iso image into a virtual drive and play the "dvd" that way?

I currently have a PC hooked up to my tv that is dire need of replacement and have considered something like Popcorn Hour...

you're probably better off just getting a dvd player than can decode divx
    or an xbox 360

popcorn hour can play anything you throw at it...and yes you can get an ISO and it will play it.
