im trying not to cheap out this time. i want the aimpoint setup with a 3x magnifier behind it, and i was surfing ebay and saw this.

what's WMD's opinions on this replica aimpoint magnifier? i wont get a replica aimpoint red dot, but was wondering about the drawbacks of a replica scope behind it, since its pretty much a simple design to copy, couldn't it be alright?

the replica is fine for some/most people. I just wasnt happy with mine.

I have used a real one though and I probably got spoiled by it. So when I got my replica i was like :ugh:

But spending 400 bones on magnification along with 400 bones on your optic... shit could've bought an Acog or Accupoint.

or spend 50 bux on a replica and kinda be somewhat satisfied with it.

but buying the optic and the mag seperate, leaves the option to have the magnification when you want it, and then move it to the side when you dont. i've pretty much talked myself out of the cheap magnifier though.

Most knock off's I've seen with magnification have been pretty craptacular, I'd go real magnifier with fake point before the opposite. Some of the knock off red dots aren't to bad for casual use.

Yea I got the aimpoint magnifier knockoff from initial e. Was hoping it would be good enough to magnify a gun cam (video). Not quite good enough. If somebody would like it I'll sell $40 shipped.

It's the exact same as the ebay listing except I don't think it's "frog resistant".
