local guy has one for sale...

I need to by an optic for my ar 15, just wondering how people feel about this as a back up sight? Sellers has alleged that it's also army issue?

    Opinions appreciated.

  2. How much? I've seen them. Never used one. KAC makes good stuff.

  4. Not a bad price. Have you considered Magpul's MBUS? You should be able to pick up a new rear MBUS for about $60USD. Of course, if you like the KAC one more, then go for that one. BUIS are really a lot about personal preference.

I was going to order one today but it was out of stock

I ended up ordering a KAC finger stop, a KAC combat trigger guard and I preordered the KAC iPod mount

finding stuff is pretty hard, it's going to be a backup for whatever optic I go with...if we can't find the stuff in shops then it usually means it hasn't been exported. And with the gun craze going on right now, weverything is in short supply in Canada...

Gotta superglue the plastic insert in place, use it or lose it kinda deal.

Other than that, does what you need it to do: sits there with a low profile and provides an alignment point if you need it.

The Troy or MBUS are much better options.

God damn it why does the U.S. have to cut exports... I thought Canad and The US were allies - longest unprotected border, NAFTA, yadda yadda...some bloody terrorists have to ruin it for everyone...

So I bought it, buddy sold it to me for $125 cdn because I picked it up...

It's not absolutely awesome, but it's pretty much bang on for what I need, an affordable, practical sight to use until I pick up an optic, and it will serve great for back up with it's low profile...

Tell me more about this. I assume you are going to run some ballistic stuff on it? What kind of setup is hosting it? Intrigued = me.

I have got to get a mac..... I have some killer app ideas revolving around the shooting community that I'd love to get out there.

  15. I'd imagine it's one of these:

I have the non-FTE version of the program in the 1st link on my iPhone. It's great.

I haven't really played with any of the ballistic solutions for the iPhone.... Those look cool.

Neat application, though it's kinda bulky for my tastes.
