Hello, first post in this forum. ive been looking at different hand guns, but im really interested in the P2000, havent shot one yet but i will be in the future along with other similar hand guns. just wondering if anyone owns one of these and how they compare to the USP compact and how they like them, if there are any issues with the new trigger system or anything else.

i checked the first 7 pages of this forum and there wasnt much about the P2000, other than the new trigger system thats on it. any info will be appreciated. thanks

I'm actually going to be purchasing a p2000 Variant 3 in 40SW next month. The P2000 is a more refined and slimmer version of the USPc. I don't know that much about HK's LEM trigger, but people seem to like it. You can reduce the pullk down to about 5lbs with a $10 mod.

I highly suggest you check out this site: http://hkpro.websolv.com/

Cant offer much info on it but I've also been looking into them, my next immediate handgun purchase is going to be a 9mm P99 but after that I'm debating between the P2K and a USP, I handled one in a shop it felt nice but I've not been able to shoot one yet, a friend of mine plans on picking one up in the next month and I will be trying his out, then I'll know which one I'll go for, I've already shot a couple USP's. The reviews I've been reading on the P2K have been pretty positive so far.

thanks for the link, been reading up on there all day. looks like the P2k is it but i just have to try it out first before i commit to purchasing it. i also noticed that it can be bought with either the LEM trigger system or SA/DA config. Which do you guys prefer and recommend for a first time hand gun owner? it will be used for home protection and range shooting. ive shot pistols before but never had one of my own, so im considering the 9mm with the LEM but any advice is welcome. thanks for the info so far, and keep it coming!

I have an HK USP9f in SA/DA and i love it. personally, i wouldn't want a DA only gun.

can you explain why? i understand the differences but instead of reading it off wikipedia id rather have someone real experiance and reasons for going with one over the other. is it for safety reasons or for shorter trigger throw?

well, i just love the SA trigger pull on mine. i figure that LEM is for safety purposes, but why not just have it cocked and lock when you have a manual safety? i guess it all just settles down to what you'd prefer.

My buddy has the P2000 and the P2000sk. The trigger pull on them feel very nice, it didn't feel right in my hands. Not that it felt bad but just not right. I wasn't a fan of the mag release on the trigger gaurd.

It's still a sweet gun. The trigger pull was :buttsex:

I've shot one once, it is slimmer than the USP compact. The trigger is light but has a really long pull. I couldn't get used to it. I prefer the glock trigger for DA.

I've never tried one but would like to. My initial impression is that they want alot of money for their plastic and I'm not sure its worth it. Perhaps firing it would change my mind.

you know i noticed you make posts like this in almost every thread, i was just waiting to see when you were gonna acknowledge mine! :wavey:

i still have an open mind but i like what ive been reading about the HK's. im gonna be trying them all out (Glock, HK and Sig) as soon as i have a chance. which ever fits best and i feel most comfortable with will be my purchase.

now since your here let me ask you what makes you pick the glock over the others ive mentioned? i understand brand loyalty but i assume youve shot the rest of these? what are the pros and cons of the glocks compaired to the Hk's and Sigs that causes you to buy them over the others?
