I posted a thread a while ago about possibly getting a Canon SD700, SD800, SD850, and I was probably going to get the SD850. I was browsing through Slickdeals and someone was saying how the SD800 has issues with "corner softness" and they posted this link http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/SD800IS/SD800ISA4.HTM

He suggested I get the Fuji F20 instead which is a lot less in price than the Canon and he said "resolves any camera in the point and shoot catogory". Anyway what are you guys opinions on the Fuji F20?

You really can't go wrong with a Canon. The SD800 has IS doesn't it, I know the 850SD does.

Your best bet is to read reviews on the two cameras and make your decision.

I have a SD450, which obviously is a lower model than yours, and I've had zero problems.

Yes, both the SD800 and SD850 have IS.

get the sd700is, better camera all round. better sharpness, and less megapixels. The 800 series loses its clarity due to the amount of mega pixels they are craming into a ittybitty sensor. I have heard another fuji camera that is a fantastic low light performer and has lots of manual abilities but can;t remember teh name.

almost everyone and their mother will say canon > * but those newer p&s fuji's are actually great performers. I would stay away from the XD card though because they tend to cost more and only max out at 1gb (unless it is 2gb now). one of the upsides to the XD is that they are very reliable cards and probably the most reliable one on the market.

I recently picked up the Fujifilm S700, and I'm totally pleased with it.

Super easy to use, 10x optical zoom, and image stabilization ftw.

I got a 2gb xD card of the new and improved type H.
And not that batterys are such a big issue, but with xD cards you dont have to worry about battery drain while the camera sits unused.

The only limiting factor that I can think of is that it can only address 2gb at a time, but I'm not sure if
    that's only for video recording.

i've got the fuji f10 and i really like it. because of the high iso performance, i don't have to use the flash nearly as much as most p&s cameras.
