Dell has these servers selling for $249 right now with Dual-Core AMD Opteron (1.8GHz). Anyone have any comments? I would plan on buidling this as a replacement server for emergencies at work. (Small retail corporation with 7 locations... this would be the main server servicing 6 remote locations.)

This server would just be hosting shared files amongst everyone at the warehouse as well as hosting the retail management software and Quickbooks. I would add a raid controller and increase RAM to at least 2GB. Would you recommend on any of the upgrades (ie CPU [DC AMD Opteron 2.0GHz for an extra $50], RAM, etc) or would I be better off ordering RAM elsewhere? Anyone know of any better deals on servers?

Thanks for the comments in advance.

I'm going to bet it would be cheaper to grab some ram off newegg, than configuring it @ dell.

If I was in charge of improving reliability in a 7-store chain, I wouldn't be using dell.
