Well I've looking into building a computer for some time, but my dad mentioned Dell saying that they're only 500-1000...I looked at the specs on their site but I was just wondering the pros/cons of getting a Dell system vs. building a phatty comp for like ~1700 as I've planned out...I'm a big gamer and big on sound if that helps.

personally i would build a system, but as a tech i have never had a problem with Dell, they are great out of the box, and if you have problems they are very easy to work with, except that they are usually staffed by people with limited exposure to the english language

they sell decent systems of you don't plan on upgrading or aren't into to much customization.

I have helped implemented Dell across our whole company... get great discounts and support. No complaints here. Have been working with them for over 3 years without incident.

    And their machines are great.

Kick ass! Does he handle datacom at all or just electrical?

    I'm jealous. I need a promotion soon. :(
