I bought my XD40 and it was used and I've had no problems with it. Are there any major draw backs with buying used? I'm thinking of looking for a G26 for my cc and might buy used again to save some $$.

It's been quite some time since I bought a new firearm.

Many of my guns have been used, a good bit of them are mil-surp so that's one reason, the other is I've found what I want used sometimes when I couldn't get it new.

As long as you have a basic idea of what to look for in terms of wear and tear and how much a used gun of whatever brand "should" cost, there's no reason to pass up a good deal on a used gun.

only bought a used mini14 and of course it worked flawlessly.
have looked at several glocks at 200under retail used and they looked fantastic.

I'd love to buy used but most of the used guns at my local shop are odd ball things I'm not interested in. Stuff like p2000 DA .357sig. They get some glocks in occasionally but they are only usually $50 cheaper than new most of the time unless they are 1st gens.

I think as long as the shop will let you field strip and inspect the gun before you buy it then the risk is pretty low when buying used.
