  1. My friends are all doing his philosphy of
1 set, however depending on the week you do 4/8/12 reps.
they are all much/bigger/stronger than I.

i find it hard to believe that one can physically gain that much LBM in one month, even w/ anabolics.

I really have a hard time beliveing much of anything that comes out of peoples mouthes. Show me pictures and proof of this 40 lbs of lbm in one month (along with whatever mysterious product you used to facilitate it) and I'm there. :mamoru:

I know a few close friends that followed it and had some impressive results. These two brothers do still follow it in fact. Dorian Yates followed a version of it. This only goes to show what the right genses can do.
I've tried it myself on and off.. with mixed results.
Dog Crapp can also be considered a type of HIT if HIT you define mostly by the one set to failure and beyond.

the Bill Starr routine was like this for me when I was starting out.
    Ex: Squat 135x5, 155x5, 175x5, 195x5, 215x5.
The first 4 sets were all easy and barely felt like anything and the last set was super hard. It was kinda like only doing one working set with 4 warmup sets.

One hard set taken to positive failure. Sometimes beyond (forced reps, negatives etc.) Not including the warmups.
Some have said that Mentzer performed alot more 'warmups' than he would admit and take the last set, the so-called only workset to failure.

  11. Well, it gave good strength results to my friends, so i figure ill give it a go.
    Whats dogg crapp/negative reps?

same with DC....why do you think DC says his program is only for experienced people? He says it's because they don't know how to train hard enough, but it's also because beginners aren't strong enough to accumulate enough volume in their warmups.

  13. so you are saying mike mentzers philosphy might not be the most beneficial for me?

yates didnt believe me, he trained 3-4 sets every exercise and then one set to failure....yates trained his own way. No one in todays circuit trains like mentzer nor do they follow his dieting advice, consider he used coke and speed

as for DC....i wont even comment on that nerve taxing BS...ceaze likes DC training

lee priest loves giving him shit...like drop sets, giant sets, negetives etc are new things  He also loves to bust his BS extreme stretching shit and making sure you wash your beef LOL. DC is another trevor smith, never done shit themselves or competed. Just boat loads of drugs, no shit your gonna grow when you train balls to the wall, eat, and do the right drugs and alot of them.

    Genius i tell you...genius

What's ironic is that all the HIT proponents all say conventional volume bodybuilding worked because of the genes of Arnold, etc. as well as the AAS use.
While to an extent true Casey Viator and Mentzer himself are probably more genetically gifted to easily putting on muscelmass than many pros back then.... and HIT still have far less sucesses.
