opinion on a bike

    i was looking at geting a new bike and i found a 2002 yamaha v star clasic for 4000 , i was wondering what kind of reliabilty i can expect from this bike. any imput is welcom thanx.

    A new bike from a major japanese manufacturer will have good reliability. Bikes do require more maintenance than a car though, so you can't just add gas and change the oil every 3k miles and that's it. But if you follow the recommended maintenance schedule, it should last at least 50k miles.

    i wouldn't worry about a yamaha cruiser... it should last you quite a while... my R1 has 53000 miles on it ... never had any engine problems... just replacing parts that will wear out eventually.. clutch plates, cables and such
