seems a bit expensive to me. Do you know the owner? Becarful buying modded cars, you don't know how abused they were. But overall, the potential to that car is pretty nice on a drag and street.

I was going for this model in GSX, but ran into a lot of folks havign to rebuild the engines so it was hard to find one in running order. That alone tossed the yellow flag. So I just went and bought an RSX. Honda motors are reliable at least.

I'd offer maybe 6k.. most mods would depreciate the value. 5k would be the sweet spot. If you got 10k, I am selling my stock 1997 240SX SE, auto, but was planning to do a SR swap on motor and tranny. Now I'm just too far in debt to do it.

Hell no. I bought a 95 talon that was abused and sold it for a $4k loss about 5 months later when it fell apart. I'll never do that again.

$10k is wayyy too high. Prices of DSM are plummeting because of the reliability issue.

    Look for an AWD.

    rule of used car buying...

stock stock stock. you WANT a stock car. The more someone fiddles with a car, the more the odds are that they, or the shop doing the work will fuck up...which you will have the lovely job of dealing with later on minus 10k to boot. Mods do not ad to resale value.

It goes like this...It could be a well done car, and the owner honestly wants to move on. Or its all sorts of garbage. Ask yourself -> Is it worth risking 10,000 on this car? Or better to hold out, find a decent stock GST/GSX for 5k and have 10x less the chances of shit breaking..These cars are bad enough stock if previous owners suck at maintanence; That reliability only exponentially decreases with more mods.

Someone will probably buy the car for a stupid price, but is it worth it in all reality? fuck no.

do not buy this GST. they shouldn't be that hard to come by. Spend some time, find a good one.

Get the honda. Late 90's Preludes are sexy, and it's gotta be in better shape than someone's project car.

I drive a Passat, dumbass. I could give a shit about VTEC, my car came with a turbo from the factory. I was agreeing with the people who are (rightly) saying that a non-modded car is much more likely to be in as good condition as it appears to be, because it won't have any halfassed hacks under the hood.

from what i understand dsms arent very reliable anyway, i would stay away from one modded by someone you dont know. the prelude would be more reliable but no turbo one that one. If you have enough money and patience you could buy the eclipse and be preppared to fix things

I would never buy a modded car, no telling what may happen. I hope they cleaned it up after they dug it out of the snow lol

You should consider something that can handle better, especially in that weather. Get a subaru impreza 2.5rs, decent amounts of power, good on gas, pretty reliable (more reliable than the eclipse)
