Cliffs. Operation Iraqi Freedom will experience a name change on sept. 1 to Operation New Dawn.

Probably not the best choice considering that it was also the name of the battle of Fallujah. However, It does signal a new era for the US-Iraq relationship and remind the iraqis that we will be pulling out slowly but surely. Changing the name can't end a War, but anything to push for sovereign control is welcome in my books.

    Thoughts?

Why did it need a name change? Do the Iraqi's really care what we name our operations???

I'm deploying there with the 3d ACR in September. Probably won't even be worth a combat patch by that point...but I can always tell myself we're a QRF in case Iran decides to trying something :noes:
