    Subject: Operation Chokehold
On Friday, December 18, at noon Pacific time, we will attempt to overwhelm the AT&T data network and bring it to its knees. The goal is to have every iPhone user (or as many as we can) turn on a data intensive app and run that app for one solid hour. Send the message to AT&T that we are sick of their substandard network and sick of their abusive comments. THe idea is we’ll create a digital flash mob. We’re calling it in Operation Chokehold. Join us and speak truth to power!

This should fail to do anything but piss off AT&T customers that aren't participating in the attempted DDoS. This isn't going to make AT&T suddenly throw a switch that fixes all the issues. They're aware there are issues with their network and they're upgrading it but this isn't gonna make things move along any quicker. It's not gonna do anything to the networks in a lot of the areas where the network isn't overloaded (like Minneapolis). It'll only hurt those in the already overloaded areas like San Fran and NYC.

AT&T already blames the crazy number of iPhones for their network congestion. This is only going to push them closer to imposing data usage tiers for iPhone users.

I'm sure Apple would have something to say about that.

I wish they would stop making those iPhone killers with a slide-out, flip-out, twist-out, upside-down, whatever keyboard.

which should've happened from day one...

instead you get 1 choice and 1 choice alone... unlimited data for $30, no ifs, ands, or buts... want an iphone, that's your only choice

you offer a single plan, you better be able to support it and not blame customers because of your failure... you want iphone exclusive, be my guest, but don't say it's customers fault because you network can't handle it...

I'm not disagreeing that service sucks. I'm only saying that this attempt at a DDoS isn't going to help things at all.

Doesn't sound like many people are actually gonna participate.
