So now that I've lost the christmas weight and started to tone up I'm trying to put some weight on now. Goal is 180lbs.

    Currently 79 Kilos(fucking saudi scales).

I've still got a little around my bellybutton I'm trying to lose(that I've almost always had). Been to the gym 2 times now to lift weights(hey, its a start, I hate lifting).

My goal is a more defined pecs, wider/thicker chest, stronger legs and lower back(I've never had good core strength and my take downs are suffering from it). I've been running(except for the last 2 weeks due to my knee, but its feeling good) between 2-4 miles a day. I did a mile and a half yesterday on the treadmill to test it and did 2 today. Gonna pick the pace up tomorrow.

    Today(screw you bed makers):

Best I've been(after 3 months of lifting for a fight). Looking for a little bigger chest and stronger legs(you can't see them but I ignored them more than I should). Sorry about the water marks, I was poor when this happened and couldn't afford the real pictures.

Bill Starr 5x5 routine that's referred to as the "Christophers Routine" in F&N. I packed on a ton of size and strenght in a hurry.

Just know that it isn't going to be fast no matter what you do.

A regular cheeseburger diet just won't cut it. I've found that the best way to put on weight in a hurry is the Ba-con-ator!!!

I've never had a better result in the chest than from some heavy benching. I'm not saying just go out there and bench till your arms fall off, but its a good way to start a workout and its one of those lifts that you will be able to really fly through weight with once you get into a rhythm. Squats and deadlifts will help with the lower back and legs fo sho.

    Good luck broseph.

I've never really done benches, but I had someone tell me the same thing about my chest. I guess thats why I've never had a good chest. I've been doing them on the smith machine here.

    I'm 6 foot.

I'm sick as shit, feel like balls.

And my body hurts from lifting.

Its been a long day. I just wanted to be home and we stayed out shopping ALL DAY LONG.

I'm so sick of shopping. I'm not even buying stuff anymore.

I'm going to use this as my training log with updated pictures weekly.

    night fools.

What exactly are you doing there again? I forget what kind of work you do.

You can do the visionquest (old 80s wrestling movie) thing and just do pushups every chance you get. That'll help out with getting some more definition.

    Regular Pushups
    Wide base pushups
    Close/diamond pushups
    Depth pushups
    Diving pushups
    Tripod pushups

Lots of stuff you can do in your room if you want.

I work for a chemical company that is owned by a Saudi company. I'm helping integrate the two companies now(it was somewhat of a forecefull take over, not everyone is happy about it. I don't mind it since I got hired after the buyout).

Its 1am and I have to work tomorrow. I've got a bad sore throat and can't sleep.

if you want to gain a lot of strength and put mass on try bill stars 5x5 routine or something like starting strength by Mark Rippetoe. they're both world class trainers and either routine will add strength and size and help build a stronger, balanced base for you.

I'm gonna check out the forum tomorrow and look it up.

We have an OK weight room here, hopefully we have all the stuff to do it.

    I need to be unsick.

  18. You shouldn't do anything on a smith machine.

Why? There are no other free weights there.

  20. can force you into an unnatural range of motion.

See how the bar doesn't go straight up and down? That's natural.

There are a lot of other reasons not to use it if you have other free-weights available (stabilizer muscles being important things to develop, etc). But I guess you don't. It's not going to kill you.

When I get back to Maryland and a full gym I will remember that.

But here I'm limited. I'm just trying to get back into the habbit of lifting.

Don't listen to the guy that never works out. The Smith machine is fine. Not the first choice, but it is fine.

. there is nothing wrong w/ a smith machine if it's all thats available at the time. of course a good incline bench would be a much better option but it doesn't seem like that's available. lifting anything is gonna be better than nothing.

My main concern is that I just have a small frame. I want to be "thicker" all around. Wider shoulder and thicker chest.

Am I just genetically screwed to be lankey, or are their specific things I can do to improve this?

As far as diet, when I get back to the US I was just going to go by GNC and tell them my goals and let them sell me stuff. While here I was going to go with the "eat big" mantra.
