To have Front Row open on a secondary display by default is by adding the FrontRowUsePreferredDisplayID entry to the com.apple.frontrow preferences. Here is what you need to do... You can determine the ID of the second display using the displaysInfo utility from http://rapidshare.com/files/54473723/displaysInfo.zip. Run the displaysInfo utility from the command line and look for the number labelled d2_ID in displayInfos output. Add this number (69681665 in the example below) as parameter to the defaults write command as shown below: defaults write com.apple.frontrow FrontRowUsePreferredDisplayID 69681665 (Change this number to match your display ID!) You can remove the preference setting and revert to the default setting using this command from the terminal: defaults delete com.apple.frontrow FrontRowUsePreferredDisplayID This will still black out your primary display while Front Row is on, but by default Front Row will always open on your Secondary Display. Thanks to polarbear65 from forums.whirlpool.net.au where I found this.
