Chicken Breast. Cottage Cheese. Eggs. Any downsides to only having 3 sources of protein day after day?

taste, boredom, missing nutrients (ie. not getting omega 3 from fish)

why would you limit yourself to just 3?

Those are the cheapest. I'm working with $100/week.

I have fish oil. What other nutrients would I be missing?

(I think I read creatine is in meat)

IIRC red meat is a good source of iron, zinc and Alpha Lipoic Acid

if ya want cheap, tuna and tilapia are good low cost fish. pork is less expesnive then chicken as well I think

There's no problem that you only get PROTEIN from those foods. In terms of building muscle, it doesn't matter.

I just hope they aren't the only foods you eat. Obviously if you only ate those 3 things, then there WOULD be a problem.

better than the people who drink 10 protein shakes a day for their protein instead of eating real food

My last pre-contest diet consisted of egg whites and chicken. I cut out egg whites at 2 weeks out and had only chicken.

    not really.

dietary cholesterol has little impact on serum cholesterol. when it comes to diet and watching your cholesterol levels, saturated fat is what you need to worry about

yolks do have a fair bit of saturated fat so if you have problems with high cholesterol, cutting them out isn't bad.

that being said, GP's don't tend to keep up on the latest research so I usually don't take their word as gospel on stuff like this

The cholesterol that results as a byproduct of your body breaking down refined carbs, etc also has a negative impact on cholesterol levels.

But in the grand scheme of things, it's fairly small compared to other changes you can make - more exercise, not smoking and losing weight do WAY more than cutting out a few foods.

ANyway, for anyone looking to reduce their cholesterol - Plant Stanol Esters, son!

I agree for the most part but changing of the diet can help reduce cholesterol and triglycerides significantly. Refined carbs and sugars are more than just a few foods.
