Suggestions? I'm not a fan of photoreflect. Actually, I'm not a fan of the idea in general, but if clients are asking and want to pay, I want to offer something better than photoreflect.

Just put em on your FB and add your clients as friends and have them comment on the photos. CL Photographer 101.

Well, then use the Java uploader, not the Simple uploader that only lets you do 5 at a time.

I use Zenfolio.com. You can do a free trial. It works great for me. If you end up paying for it, tell me before you do and I can "refer" you...

    jalbum

put the software on your own space, apply a skin and password protect.

or Picasa - and use googles space. I have about 700 images hosted that are of decent size and it takes up about 25% of my space allotment, and you can have private invite only galleries. and upload all your pics at one time and you are done. unlike jalbum, you can not customize the skin

I just switched to Instaproofs They only cost money if people order directly through the site. It's nothing real fancy, but it works for me.

Edit: it's customizable with CSS to help match your site.
Click on Clients section at the bottom to see it in action. http://allenowenphotography.com/index2.php?v=v1

I just started it yesterday so I have a lot more "tweaks" to do.

Pony up some money and use Photoshelter. Then you can even customize it so that it blends right with your own website and unless they are smart enough to look at the url, looks like they never left your site.

They can do print fulfillment or you can do it and you can set it up so they can just pay for digital downloads as well. Good system.

    :eek3:

Thats impressive. A little more than what I'm looking for at the moment, but def. something I'd look into in the long run.

I'm not really looking to generate too much sales off the site, what I want to do is give the clients a website to go and at least look at their unedited pictures. Something w/ maybe a slideshow option for them and something a little better setup than photorefelect.

Great site though, thats pretty damn cool. :coold:

I dont use Photoshelter for any direct sales at this time (though I should), but use it strictly for client distribution. I can set up gallery collections for them, then they can go in and download their full res files all at once or just take the few they need and can have access to them anywhere they have an internet connection. Here is an example of one gallery collection. You cant get into the galleries to download cause those are pw protected.

    http://pa.photoshelter.com/gallery-collection/Bimmerworld-2009/P0000S5ClAdVbORs

I could make that to look like my own website so it looks like its part of it, but havent done that either since its only for distribution.

Consider it. The basic package at onyl $9.99/mo would probably work and would cost next to nothing (write off too) and even if it doesnt generate the sales, its at least a good proofing site. Though you sell one thing a month and its paid for. ;)

I'm going to try the free one to see what kind of money it generates, if any. I'm not opposed to getting it, just need to see how people react to this first. I really don't like photoreflect. :hs:
