I'm looking for a template or code for making an easy to update and very clean, easy to use online photo album for my own personal website. Anyone have any ideas?

  3. www.smugmug.com

if you join up i can give you my referral number (will save you $10-$20 and I will also get monayz)

  4. also here is a new local website

    www.ephotolab.com

never checked it out yet but the place is actually local to me so I stopped in to say hi and I spoke to the owner and he said that they are giving away free galleries for a while to get their name out there.

Noooo. Smugmug is blocked over here along with pbase. But not your .edu domain. :squint: More people need to host on servers I can see. I hate being in photography forums and seeing lots and lots of :redxd:

ehh, if you get a lot of traffic avoid simpleviewer. It's hard on bandwidth. :hsd:

(I need to get to work writing my gallery this afternoon now that I think of it)

How did you get rid of the simpleviewer link?

Also, is there a limit of thumbs you can put on the page? I realize too many may get busy but didn't know if it was customizable?

    thanks

  17. I think it was viper who was the first to change the text color. That's what I do. Change the text color to match the background. I believe the text color can be found in the XML file. You will have to acquire an older version of simpleviewer though because the designer of the software quickly caught wind of everyone doing this and made the newer versions so you can't simply change the text color anymore.

There is no limit to the number of images you can put on your simpleviewer gallery and no limit to the number of thumbs that you can put on a page. however... the more images you put on the longer it takes for the page and images to load... My fireworks gallery had like 40+ images and it takes a little while to load. I think anything more than 40 will be pretty slow.

thanks for the info. I actually considered purchasing Simple View Pro. I believe it lets you remove the link and is a bit more configurable.

    that's a plus.

burned through over 8GB one day after I posted some car show pictures. Realized later that the link was posted all over the internet (from canadian car clubs to the national Lotus forum to the local club sites).

thankfully it slowed down so I only went through about 35GB that last half of the month, but I was ready to pull the plug on it.
