Two more bouts have been announced for PRIDE FIGHTING'S upcoming May 5th event, TOTAL ELIMINATION ABSOLUTE 2006.

Croatian sensation MIRKO "CRO COP" FILIPOVIC, will battle against Japanese pro-wrestler Ikuhisa "Punk" Minowa and the "Babyfaced Assasin" Josh Barnett will take on Red Devil's Aleksander Emelianenko. Coming off of impressive TKO victory over Giant Silva, only one man will be left standing as Ikuhisa Minowa faces Mirko Crocop, in hopes of advancing to the next round of TOTAL ELIMINATION '06.

Standing just 3 inches shorter than his opponent but weighing more, Josh Barnett will face Aleksander Emelianenko. With both fighters winning their last bouts with the rear naked choke, this match will determine who the better submission artist is.

Other fighters expected to participate in the tournament: ANTONIO RODRIGO NOGUEIRA, MARK HUNT, "TK" KOSAKA and WANDERLEI SILVA. Additional participants and match ups to be announced soon.

TOTAL ELIMINATION ABSOLUTE is the first round of PRIDE FIGHTING'S 2006 16-Man Grand Prix Tournament. ABSOLUTE means no weight classes. The tournament will span three events TOTAL ELIMINATION ABSOLUTE (Opening Round), CRITICAL COUNTDOWN ABSOLUTE (Second Round) and FINAL CONFLICT ABSOLUTE (Semi-Finals and Finals). Dates for the latter two events will be announced soon.

TOTAL EILIMINATION ABSOLUTE 2006 is scheduled to premiere on North American pay per view on Friday, May 5th, 2006.

Minowa is going to be the first in ring death in Pride. Why doesn't he just stay in his weight class for a few fights? haha

he has an iron chin though, so it'd at least be fun to see how much punishment he could endure

I think its a bracket elimination system, so they are probably facing off.

ABSOLUTE FOR THE FUCKING WINNNNNN... I loved the last no-weightclass event... this shit is going to pwn. I think when fighters don't have to cut down to meet a requirement it really allows them to be on the top of their game and that just makes it all the more better.

But wtf.... I don't think Barnett v. Aleks will end in subs... that's a definite first-minute KO fight.

I'll be rooting for Josh. And I hope Minowa gets knocked out in record time. Crocop needs to get back on the right track.

one of the biggest things about cro cop is that he fought over a dozen times within 2 years, and most fighters fight maybe 2-3 times a year. he needs to focus his training more probably
