Is there not a forum that we can use to talk about the moderation of this forum?
Im not looking for a lock or anything, but I would at least like a place where we can speak openly about things?
If WML is not the place, where should we post such discussions?

Im not saying that the locks are not deserved, I am just asking for the place where we have an open discussion on this subforums moderation, good or bad?

i dont quite understand what is up to Kingtoad, the open discussion?

So from a high level, we have a forum but no real place within that forum for open discussion on its moderation?

Doesnt this go against the main purpose for a discussion forum..

Knock yourself out. The moderation about this forum is what I would consider related to this forum. I think I moved one of your threads once and you complained. For the most part, the only threads I've locked is Thormor's bragging threads. If you want to start a discussion, go ahead. :dunno:

I've requested sub-forums for other things to be added but things here move slow.

Don't worry bro your thread will be closed right after he gets the last word in so it doesn't really matter does it? :hsugh:

The problem exists when that kind of stuff is tolerated for so long, then when it gets out of control in the threads they're just locked instead of some sort of real moderation going on.

There's 7 locked threads out of the last 15 in this sub forum. Obviously something isn't working, and it's too bad because this WAS a productive sub forum.

The shit you're contributing gets the thread locked. Not what Maxxpower is doing.

because usually the users don't tell a mod how to do his job, he is here to maintain order, lock shit when it needs it, delete shit when it needs its and move shit and report rule breakers

    and he is doing that

Aye, im not complaining, but i welcome the chance for us to speak.

We are very fortunate in the WML to have such a tight group and most of us know eachother and where eachother are coming from.

I think for the most part, we (at least my perspective) didnt have an issue with the moderation of the forum with the exception that getting things done was always having to go through a mod of another forum.

This was actually quite good as it added a sense of discussion on what should be moderated and what shouldnt have. We used to PM Pepsi or an SMOD and generally it worked well.
Everyone had an opportunity to do it and it worked. The issue was timing... it took forever to get an smod and Pepsi ended up doing the work, you can appreciate that.

Now, the perspective is we went from 0 or self moderation to in some cases more moderation than we even anticipated.

Almost everyone here stood up and said, Kingtoad is the man, including myself. But, I can say now that you still are the man, but, the perspective is, a bit too much moderation for a subforum that got along like we did.

I hate to use it as an example, but look at this...

Everyone here knows im a software developer and if I got a huge check and went out and bought a boat, viper or house, I would hope that I could openly post about it here in this sub-forum to show you guys what you helped me achieve.

Given the history and actions here... if I got a 6 figure check tomorrow and made that post. It would be locked.

That to me is not exactly where I wish (or even others wish) for the direction of this subforum to go.

I like to think that even YOU Kingtoad can come in here and post some seemingly un-related material to our group of friends to hear their opinions on it.
Obviously you cannot post such items in the main and get the same feedback so I can see where all parties are coming from.

WML doesnt necesarily mean that all discussions need to be about WML, they can be about what, who, items and situations effect the members of that community and be entirely unrelated to being a webmaster?

Dont you think? and these are not just statements, I am looking for a discussion here from you and others.

there is no need to delete them

they are not breaking a rule that would required them to be deleted

like a spammer or unlinked nws or something like that

king toad made a choice he could have moved it or lock it, he decided to lock it

and alot of the locked threads are not needed to be made in the first place

a stupid topic making fun of thomor

and 2 threads calling king toad out that should have been pms instead of threads being made

there are 3 locked ones there that should have not been made in the first place

like i suggested in the other thread, we should have a sticky for offtopic stuff. people would turn to that, in order to share "offtopic" posts amongst our small community.
