    customer came in today asking about the clarion 9255.. Salesman looked it up, and told him its 1400$, but he wouldnt pay that much for a shitty clarion. HE THEN suggested an alpine 9887 instead because they are "pretty much the same" and it would save him a grand:hsugh:

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    hes an idiot:hs:

    $1400 is a hell of a mark up, if we're talking about the same 9255.

    sorry, i'm just curious... it seems odd to me, to be able to get msrp... and i was wanting to know, if you really did get msrp from customers out there... if so, i was going to say i'm in the wrong market... in our market, you have to sell off map, or below(we still make good points, off the products we sell... and this past 5 months we've been doing better, than most shops according to our reps.)... because of too many whiners, that have the interweb or crutchfield mailers.

    also another reason, was the clarion deck i'm thinking about... some 6 years ago our local rip-off artist(stereo shop in the town i live, not the town i work.) were selling it at $899 closeout price, and had the original price listed at $1299.

    Its pretty easy to sell at msrp when by pretty much every display we have there's a "dealer of the year" plaque:hsd:

    In some areas people pay MSRP. Local B&M's here sell for MSRP all the time.
