    It looks taller than normal scale.

    Optical illusion.
    Stripes (like those in the border, and the vertical window frames) tend to elongate objects.
    Open it in Photoshop, and remove the border and you'll see it's 3:2 ratio, from 350D's 3456x2304 resized to 800x533.

    what does it matter if it is cropped? Its not like you can feasibly put something in front of the lens to crop in camera?


    I'm on the girl's laptop, which is uncalibrated, but a lot of the images look kinda flat. Might try some levels adjusments if they really are like that. Oh and over sharpened or saved down too many times, getting some weird stuff going on, most noticeable in the tree shots where theres more fine contrast
