I need to fill a lot of down time this month and can't seem to find any games to do that with so I need a recommendation.

Would go the MMO route, but i've tried most / most suck and it's not really worth the time investment if I'm stopping at the end of the month (maybe there's one that would work for this that I'm forgetting).

Most multiplayer FPS games get old for me after playing a few hours straight. I find that I can only really stay interested if I play an hour a day or so, but I have a lot of time to kill.

Single player games usually just don't last long enough.

Is there a game I'm forgetting / not thinking of?
    Need some ideas here people.

I was all up on DA:O for a while and played through it a couple of times, too bad it was during the semester. I should have saved it to play over this break.:sadwavey:

Played that one too :( ...the three suggested are three of my favorite games.
Not a bad thing, but that's my problem.

I just can't find anything new. Are there any quirky / niche games out there with tons of replay value? maybe some sort of multiplayer?

I might just be forum whoring this break while playing cheap sp games from the steam holiday sale.

Darksiders comes out next week and looks very promising. No clue how long it is though.

Risen got some good reviews and seems pretty deep along the lines of Oblivion etc.

I've been home with a bad case of the flu and Dragon Age has really sucked me in. Its a great game and very long. None of this 6-8hr gameplay shit you see these days

Don't know if I can justify the money for it

I would jump on a veteran trial, but for some reason they don't have one.

People still play that game? I remember playing the beta and open beta many years ago right when it was coming out and it was definately a fun game but not something I'd pay monthly for. IMO it was too much of a futuristic BF2-style FPS (yeah I know it was out way before BF2) just set in a persistent MMO world instead of having small 48-player servers but it really just didn't have enough of the addictive RPG elements that would warrant paying the monthly fee. From what I remember the level cap was 20, there were no NPC enemies, and there were only a select few heavily populated warzones and it got a little old fighting for the same areas over and over again. Then again the game may have changed a whole lot since then but I honestly didn't think anyone played it anymore.

It was populated enough for 1-2 years (then WoW came and grabbed all of the players from original games).

They implemented some bad decisions (BFR) and didn't really go anywhere when they had the chance.

Someone said something like this somewhere:

It's the best game everyone has played.... for a month.

It just didn't have the retention it should have, although I played for about 2-4 months off and on due to being in the best outfit on my server.

Anyways, game was great and they're making a new one.... sadly there are rumors of NPC's / AI which would totally ruin everything that the original PS was.

Oh and If you do try Planetside at any point (there's a trial) take it for what it was, because it has a few hackers (they remake trial accounts when banned) and a few poorly planned tweaks to the game.

With all that said, people should really check it out. It's an MMO with no grind, a great setting, and a view into what could have been an awesome industry. Too bad the MMO's scene took a wrong turn around '05

So far im about 4 or 5 hours in and still at the first temple. The boss battles are big but nothing major like bayonetta.

If you have a 360, get bayonetta, its fucking amazing. Too bad sega choose some sucky developer to convert it to ps3.

Oblivion failed on Vista. Haven't really tried it on Win 7 yet.

    Uncharted 2 is :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

wow i can't believe planetside is back... i used to play the shit out of that during beta and after said beta. You're all right though, I quit after a while because it got too boring. Although kickin my friends out of the transport ship in the middle of nowhere was fun.
