    but you can't even get pre-bans in CT from out of state, unless they were registered here before 2004.

    I just moved to the state 2 months ago, but from what I've read, you can't transfer a registered assault weapon to someone else within the state... maybe since they're pre-ban off-list lowers they're not considered. I don't know, but the AWB laws in CT are more confusing than CA's. Sucks.

    in NJ only the original owners to the pre-ban can still have them. Can't transfer them to anyone in state. Also the NJ ban started I think in 1990.
    Looking up info to pick up an AR-15 that's NJ legal, seems like the only way to be 100% sure is to buy a full one from a dealer. Only one I have been able to find that states NJ legal is bushmaster.
