One dead, two held after botched car theft

A Gulfport resident was arrested for manslaughter Friday after allegedly shooting a suspected car thief, while another man was held for the botched robbery, Gulfport Police said in a news release.

Peter Kim, 27, was arrested after police were summoned to his home where they found another man dead in the backyard. The deceased's name was not released.

Anthony Nguyen, 20, of Ocean Springs, was charged with attempted motor vehicle theft.

Both Kim and Nguyen were taken to the Harrison County jail and Judge Melvin Ray denied bond in both cases as the two await initial appearances.

Not much in the way of details there. But I have no problem with thiefs getting shot.
