    Dear LAOT,

If I've never been arrested/cited/ticketed for anything; there is no way anybody will find out about past drug use, right? I'm talking prolonged use of marijuana, and usage of mushrooms and mescaline. No parking tickets, no arrests ever, no involvement with shady people, etc...

I'm really a terrible liar, but they can't fuck me if I turn red or look like I'm lying if they've got nothing on me (and I continually deny it), right? :hsd:

From what I've read, my choices are 1. lie, or 2. find another livelihood.

If there is no paper trail... you can pass through MEPS.

Get caught in this lie after you are in can be catastrophic.

What measures will the armed forces take to expose previous drug use after I've gotten in cleanly?

that's one thing that I considered, but I don't plan on making this a career. I really just want to do 4 years of Infantry and then move on.

I smoked mad weed and did some hard drugs before I joined. I've been in 14 years now. I lied about it when I joined. Oh well... Joining the mil gave me a 2nd chance and for that I'm grateful. Sometimes we have to keep certain things to ourselves if you know what I mean.

Depends on MOS... it has been said... but they will find out anything if needed.

If you just want to make Corporal and get out in the Infantry... I say lie and do it.

    LOL

unless you do something really stupid or have shitty references no one will ever know. you said that there is no paper trail and as long as your close family members and friends don't know about your drug use there is no way you can get caught. Just don't be stupid about it.

Nothing will happen if you tell them.

I couldn't stand there and lie to their faces no matter if it didn't matter or not. It felt good to know that I told them.

IF your only goal is 4 years of infantry, I wouldn't sweat it.

Depending on your recruiter, they will give you different answers as to what you should say/fill out. Normally I'd say honesty is the best policy, but if theres no paper trail..

speaking of drugs, they had a whiz quiz at my command today, and I had to be a meat gazer. :mamoru: Luckily it's not like the airforce, so we don't actually have to look at cocks while they urinate, just stand behind them from a distance. Good thing there were like 4 of us, so it was over rather quickly.

When I was in the airforce, monitors had to actually see your penorz while urinating in the cup. I never took a piss test nor did I ever monitor one, but you could see the monitor standing next to or right over the person pissing. Then again it was the guard, so I don't know if AD does the same thing.
