My dad mentioned he had an old 35mm SLR. I finally found it today man its awesome! I am reading the sticky on basic photography and I am super confused. :eek3: So any one have any tips for some one who has never used an SLR, especially a non digital one?

    yes read the manual first!
make sure the meter is working, batteries may be old!
and its a lot simpler than a digtal SLR

I have an om1 as well. It's great. Fantastic way to learn doing manual focus. Check batteries. Don't really need a manual. It's so basic.

batteries appear to be good because i turn it on and the meter responds to the light changes.
