For the people that have this camera, how long does it last withought recharging the batteries again?

I own a nikon coolpix 700 and it drains my batteries soo fast, i even have NiMH rechargables.

I have been looking into a new camera.

    Either a Canon Powershot s230

    or

    Olmpyus c400

I looking for a decent macro cam, better battery life than my coolpix.

Also how is the media card that the olympus uses? I have always prefered CF..

My orginal idea was to get the s230 because it is small, 3mp and have lithium batteries which would last longer than my coolpix.

But the picture quality is amazing on the c4000 so i wanted to check it out...

Try to pricematch it at staples and if that goes through use one of the many $50 of $200 coupons that are floating around, I'm waiting to see if my PM for a C-4000 is going to go through or not as I type this.

That sucks, I didnt think to check before price matching :uh: I used http://www.cameratopia.com/products.asp?product_id=11309&dept_id=1085&shelf=1098 it's $348 there but call for availability, with my luck they arent in stock there either. I'd like to get a C-730 since it was 10x zoom and uses the new xd cards but I'd rather not spend $450 on a camera.

I found a number of sites that sell very cheap.. They try to get you on buying accessories and high shipping costs.. TThats how they make up for cheap cameras..

Some have bad experience of cancelling your order if you dont want any accessories, aint that a bitch :(

But some are still cool if you dont want any.. Just check around before you buy, i found a few sites that look halfway decent..

Got my email from staples today, cameratopia.com isn't an olympus dealer (there's a shocker). The hunt continues.

I've been researching camera's for a while. And I narrowed it down to the c4000. I ordered mine online, and should be here next week.

I would of loved the Nikon 4500, but I didn't have the money, and the price of the Olympus is great. $400 shipped to my door. Can't wait to test it out!
