thats insane! you could switch to different keyboard layouts qwerty/dorvak, black it out so other people are lost with out the keys. probably even draw little picuteres, display stats, anything.

will probably cost an arm and a leg, but its still pretty cool.

dont think id ever use one though

JUST for the ability to change pictures on the keys depending on what app/game you're using is enough

    $300? ok, here ya go

    as mentioned in :repost::repost::repost::repost::repost::repost:

screensavers, winamp plugin, and :noes: popup advertising

can't tell if he's an AE, or just a dumbass. Kinda leaning towards the latter.

does a mod wanna do an ip check?

Wouldn't buy it. Don't need the keyboard to tell me where the letters and shortcuts for the applications I use are. I already know them. :noes:

Dead pixels on a keyboard. :squint:

I could see newegg: No returns unless keyboard has 8 or less dead pixels

It would be pretty useless unless you could re-assign the keys (redo the entire keyboard map, including assigning compound keystrokes to a single key). Just telling you where the shortcuts where would be a waste.

It should also be pointed out that this is an industrial design company, not a electronics manufacturer. They "design" (make pretty) products for other companies. As such, and considering how young and expensive OLED technology is right now, it's possible that this was just a design exercise.

cliffs: It's vaporware for the moment.

So if it has no dead pixels I can return it, but not if it has 9 or more?:mamoru: That would suck ass.

    :mamoru:

I'm tired. I pulled a 16 hour day at work yesterdyay, got four hours of sleep, and I just got home from work today. :hs:

I'm exhausted, especially after drinking a few beers. I'm ready to pass out. It's only 8:30 too. :wtc:

Well, yeah, it is strictly design right now, but they will probably start manufacturing them considering the attention this board has been getting.

I've seen the link for this keyboard several times already. OT Main Forum, OT C&P, had a few non-OTers send me the link via instant messaging. Even got it in an e-mail at work.

I think it would have a ridiculous price tag though. I'm assuming that thing will run anywhere between $399 - $599. Sadly, people WILL buy it.

With the right features it would be a usefull keyboard, but not at the price I'm sure it will come out at. Maybe in 4 or 5 years.

Of course I'm still waiting for my $50, one-terabyte, credit card sized, 100MBit xfer rate memory cards that where working in prototype and just about ready for production....

I remember talk of credit card sized hard drives with a 2gb capacity, but I havn't heard form them since. But yeah, that was a few years ago. Wonder where they are. :run:

I don't think it will be a useful keyboard simply because of the price it will be. :dunno: Unless it's someone who doesn't know how to type, too lazy to learn short cuts, and is willing to blow cash on a useless item, yeah it might be useful to them. :mamoru:

I work with a bunch of designers, they get the most bitchen toys. I'll bet they'll be the first few to have a keyboard like this.

USB flash drives? No. Those were out waaaaay before the talk of credit card sized hard drives with 2gb capabilities.

These hard drives were literally as thin as a credit card, and as thick as one as well. They require a reader (Which probably used USB) to access the medium.
