    Choices are:

    1. 15" MacBook Pro (previous gen.) 2.5Ghz/2GB RAM/250GB HD
    2. 13" MacBook (alu) 2.4Ghz/2GB RAM/250GB HD

A friend is hooking me up and I can get both for the same price, $1300. I'm coming from a previous 15" MBP 2Ghz (revision A), so I'm a bit concerned about first generation Mac products. Then again, resale value is going to tank on the old MBP for sure over time. I regularly upgrade laptops every 18-24 months.

I'm leaning towards the new MB because I love new gadgets. Screen real estate isn't a big deal to me either. Convince me one way or another. :o

I have the MB. The display doesn't suck, people bitch on crazy online about it. People over exaggerate.

I got the MB because I'm a university student so I need my bag to weigh as little as possible. If weight/size wasn't an issue, I would have gone for the older MBP for sure.

The 2.5Ghz MBP is brand new and sealed in box. I currently have it just sitting in my closet while I'm still deciding between it and a new aluminum MacBook. Also, warranty is good for another 11 months since I've been holding onto it for 2 weeks now. :o

If I decide to get the MB, I'll probably just give the MBP to my Mom or something. She only uses the computer 30-60 minutes a month for quick e-mail so I'm sure she'll be fine with old technology. :dunno:

The processor has a marginally higher clock speed, but the FSB on the new MacBooks is considerable higher which will lead to an overall performance gain.

ide say get a new MBP im using one right now and it is AMAZING. for a 15" and i have a dell 14" ive liked for a while as far as size i freaking love it. 13' feels to small for me for a regular use computer.if your using it for just basic shit i guess its fine.

Just picked up a brand new in box 15" unibody MBP 2.53Ghz/4GB RAM/512MB Nvidia.

Best part was the price - $1,300. Retails for $2,500.
